BoBo came to Mickaboo as an almost 50-year-old Princess of Wales Parakeet after his owner, who had owned him since he was a chick, passed away. Needless to say, his life was uprooted, and he struggled to adjust to his foster home. While his foster Mom tried to replicate his previous lifestyle, he refused to eat or drink and spent 3 weeks with one of our veterinarians who made some surprising observations while he was in her care. Bobo has cataracts in both eyes, and his vision is severely limited. Additionally, he cannot fly or maneuver his wings in any useful way. In addition to his transition to a healthy diet, adjustments to his living quarters were made in order to allow him freedom to move around, but in a safe and padded environment. He enjoys hanging out near some new foster additions in a space nearby.
