Everyone interested in fostering or adopting a bird must attend our class on bird care prior to receiving a bird from us. This class is free of charge (although donations are appreciated) and is open to the general bird-loving public.
The class covers these topics:
- Proper avian care
- Proper avian diet
- Symptoms of illness and first aid
- General husbandry
- Taming and training
- And much much more...
Criteria for adopting/fostering a bird from us can be found on our How to Adopt page.
We have basic bird care classes scheduled throughout the Bay Area in the North Bay, San Francisco/Peninsula, South Bay, East Bay, and Sacramento areas.
Andy's is located in Downtown San Jose, near San Pedro Square and the Shark Tank, just a few blocks off of Hwy 87. Foster parents are encouraged to bring their foster birds for class attendees to meet at noon. Park for FREE in our private lot. Street meters in effect on Saturdays.
Reservation: To reserve your spot for a class, email class@mickaboo.org with the class location and class date, in the subject line. And if you want to adopt a cockatiel (for example), please say so in the email so we may try to customize our class comments for you.
